Ogaga Maxwell, a participant of ours from Nigeria, sent us these pictures of the ‘Sport Skills for Peace’ project which he initiated thank to the support of a grant made possible by our sponsor, the Freedom to Create.

Another of our participants, Ester Eshiet, also carried out a project thanks to support from the Freedom to Create Foundation called ‘Students Arise Against Conflict’.

Calabar

Calabar is a city in southeastern Nigeria. Below are pictures of its Carnival (Africa’s biggest street party), the Millennium Park (where the biggest flag in the country is hosted, along with the names of the country’s heroes) and the 11 Roundabout, where a gong/ball was once used to convey information and news to the population. The last picture depicts ‘Peace Hands’, a traditional way of seeking peace by placing both hands onto the ground.
